KATY DOESN`T WAIT FOR HER RIVALS

Katy Nowaitee took the step up to Listed company in her stride at Newmarket today and put herself in line for a trip to France later in the month.

The Tote Cambridgeshire winner completed a hat-trick as she easily justified favouritism in the Grangewood Severals Stakes.

The extra furlong she was required to travel today proved no problem as she brushed aside Salee by one and three-quarter lengths.

She was teeing up a near 49-1 double for trainer Peter Harris, who 24 hours earlier had secured a 272-1 brace at Lingfield.

The trainer has earmarked a Group Three event at Bordeaux at the end of the month for the filly who is making up for lost time having missed a huge chunk of the season because of injury.

'Anything between one and one and a quarter miles seems to suit her well,' said Harris.

'It`s a shame the season is coming to an end in her case. Although the long break she had wasn`t planned it has worked out well.

'I`d like to take her to France now but her coat is starting to go so we`ll have to see. Whatever happens she will stay in training next year.'

Harris notched his 36th winner of the campaign when Idle Power landed the Grangewood Nursery.

Idle Power, ridden by Basil Marcus, kept on determinedly to defeat Blue Reigns by one length.

The horse was coming good, having been gelded after his fourth race.

'In hindsight I probably ran him too soon after his operation when he disappointed at Yarmouth last time,' said Harris.

'He had won a race earlier but we had him gelded because we felt he wasn`t putting his best foot forward.'

Dancing Mystery continued his climb up the ranks when landing the Bet With ukbetting.com Rated Handicap.

He was well-handled by Stephen Carson to thwart Candleriggs by three-quarters of a length.

'You haven`t seen anything yet - he`ll certainly run again this season,' said trainer Eric Wheeler.

'He`s improved no end - I like to give them a bit of time and keep their brains right and that usually brings its reward.'

Scene finally came good for her new trainer Nick Littmoden when overcoming Judicious in the Grangewood Handicap.

'The first time she ran for me at York she got absolutely murdered and then at Redcar she got no cover,' said Littmoden. 'But she ran really well at York last time.'

Aidan O`Brien took the wraps of another of his powerful juvenile squad but there was disappointment for the Irish trainer this time as Ishguru was pipped a neck by Ajwaa in the EBF Snailwell Maiden Stakes.

'Our horse had the benefit of a run and that made all the difference today,' said winning trainer Marcus Tregoning.

Seren Hill followed up her win at York when gamely denying Flossy by a short head in the Grosvenor Rated Handicap.
